Since 2014, Brussels Mobility, CIRB, STIB, Parking Brussels and Innoviris have come together in the form of a Smart Mobility Committee. Together they have prepared the Smart Mobility Challenge: a call for projects to finance living-labs in the area of mobility. The aim is to take advantage of the ever-increasing knowledge and data available in Brussels to provide solutions to this major societal challenge of mobility.
This Brokerage event, which took place on September 26, 2017, was the official launch of this call for projects. Concrete examples were presented to inspire future projects. Open space workshops focused on various topics related to smart mobility were organized. The aim of these workshops was to relate supply and demand in terms of solutions, data and skills.
IOT Factory presented concrete proposals for IOT solutions to help reduce road traffic by implementing smart metering and remote monitoring of equipment used for urban management.
The objective being that at the end of this brokerage, new partnerships will be established in order to deliver a living-lab project to Innoviris for a three-year funding period, for a total of at least 4 millions of euros.
