Scarcity of resources: what future for digitalization?
Hub.Brussels is organizing (23-Apr-2024), in collaboration with the Belgian Institute for Responsible Digital Affairs (ISIT) and The Wonder, an event on environmental and societal issues linked to the impact of the digitalization of Businesses.
This event will be enhanced by the presentation of a study on the environmental impact of digital technology, by Aurore Stéphant, member of the Systex Association, mining geologist engineer, specialist in mining sectors.
On this occasion, IOT Factory will present its tools for implementing the concept of “Equipment as a Service”, namely offering equipment and machines, no longer for purchase, but in the form of a service offer. The advantages are multiple, both for the customer who pays for the service provided for the machine, and for the producer who is motivated by the development of robust equipment with a long lifespan. And of course, the environment benefits, since we move away from the concept of planned obsolescence.
The implementation of the concept of “Equipment as a Service” requires the activation of sensors which make it possible to report usage data (billing, statistics), but also detected problems (preventive and predictive maintenance).
